Yoga Across America (YAA) is teaching yoga to high school students across the country. Through our strategic partnership with Dr. Oz’s HealthCorps, we are rolling into more than 70 schools nationwide, sharing yoga with at risk youth in underserved communities.
"I think that yoga is amazing. I want to do yoga more often because it helped me to relax and to have minutes of silence," says Abigail Castro, Junior
YAA’s goal is to empower students and communities through yoga. By sharing these practices, students are discovering that anything is possible. The lessons they learn on their yoga mats are playing out in their everyday lives.
On their yoga mats, students make a deep connection with their body, mind and spirit. This connection opens up a world of possibility, and they take this energy of possibility and transformation into their everyday lives.
"I love the way I feel after yoga," states Donovan Jacobo, Freshman
As Yoga Across America reaches out to communities who might not have access to yoga, and other diverse areas, we are co-creating change that benefits everyone. YAA’s outreach ability once we are in all 75 HealthCorps schools: impact approximately 104,000 students and an additional 207,000 community members.
